About Dr. Prevor
For over 25 years, Dr. Ruth C. Prevor was the sole proprietor and practitioner of a successful psychology practice at the Ashford-Presbyterian Medical Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Dr. Prevor brings myriad experiences and professional credentials to her practice. In addition to clinical care of private patients, she has served in a number of roles and capacities for both the federal government as well as for the local Puerto Rican government. She was a provider of clinical and consultancy services to private industrial firms, several branches of the United States military, and a number of federal agencies. In addition, she was privileged to participate as a consultant and advisor to varied educational institutions who requested her expertise in the field of psychology.
As a fully bilingual (English and Spanish) therapist and evaluator, she has worked with a highly diverse patient population. This diversity applies to different cultures, national backgrounds, ages, races, religions, sexual preferences and identities.
Dr. Prevor holds licenses to practice psychology both in Florida and Puerto Rico. She is an accredited psychologist of the National Register of Health Service Providers, and earned diplomate status from the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
EDUCATION
Dr. Prevor completed a Masters and Ph.D., both in Clinical Psychology, at the San Juan campus of what is known as Albizu University, a university that since many years has maintained the accreditation of the American Psychological Association (APA), both in San Juan, Puerto Rico, as well as in its campus in Doral, Florida.
In her doctoral preparation, Dr. Prevor served as assistant to the Academic Dean of the institution and trained at both the Ashford Memorial Hospital and Community Mental Health Clinic. After coursing two years (four semesters of post-doctoral studies and training, Dr. Prevor received formal certification in Legal/Forensic Psychology.
